How I work

Advertising can be inclusive, accessible, and empowering AND still meet (and exceed!) business goals.

As a designer, I flex both technical skills and soft skills like communication and problem solving. Empathy and respect are at the foundation of my work—respect for the people I work for, the people who will see my work, and for myself is all essential to creating meaningful work.

With 5+ years experience working for a variety of clients in a variety of workplaces, I’m able to hit the ground running no matter the project. I’m proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects, and I bring a unique creative eye and easy-to-work-with personality.

I care about mental health, body positivity and women's healthcare. Also fun, equally important things like stand up comedy, horror movies, and spending time with my sweet, goofy dogs.

Let’s work together!

Available for logo/identity design, layout, print, presentations, social graphics, motion and so much more! My standard rate is $50/hr, but I try to charge on a sliding scale based on the project and the client (i.e. small business or nonprofit vs. large business) and I’m happy to price by the project. Send me an email and let’s make something awesome 😎

Experience

Freelance work
As a full-time freelancer I take on a variety of projects from my home office (and sometime around Seattle). I love to work with social justice organizations and local small businesses.
Clients include: The Juicy Cafe, Tails of the City, Gates Foundation, World Central Kitchen, Feminist Sticker Club

“Sierra is a super talented genius! I asked her to design a logo and a sticker for me and she enthusiastically accepted the job. A day or so later, I opened my inbox to find about six fully executed ideas that were all awesome. I wound up (happily) buying more from her than I intended and her work got me extra excited to launch my new side business. I definitely hope to be able hire Sierra again and again. (I also get compliments on her work all the time.)”
Kelly Hinkle, Creator of Feminist Sticker Club and Cat Sticker Club

“Sierra was a contract visual designer for Amazon Device customer engagement campaigns. She was an invaluable contractor at times when a high influx of work was required under tight timelines. She worked with me to conduct design explorations which helped hone style guides and best practices for engagement channels, her explorations ultimately contributed to guidelines set for those channels and their success. She was reliable and timely throughout the duration of her contract and I would gladly work with again.”
